The end of the beginning and the beginning of the new.

This is a post of my struggle with mental illness. Not every story can be happy, frankly this is a downer, however I hope that this post can also relate to someone else struggling.

2013 was a struggle for my family. More of a struggle for me. We all have issues from childhood, sometimes those memories include individuals who are hard to forgive, allowing ourselves to compromise, losing sight of what is good, etc. I have had more than my share of needing forgiveness. This is a common theme in the lives of us all.

However, in the fall of 2013 I was struggling for my sanity. There were moments when I would think, "why am I freaking out?", "I am overreacting", "I don't feel in control", "I will never be good enough".

Despite what I was thinking, I could not change my behavior. I found myself sitting in the dark, constantly crying, loss of focus, lack of sleep, removing myself from my family and hiding away so I didn't cause them more turmoil. After a week straight of crying I realized that I needed help. I called a counselor that I have met in the past and he got me into a doctor. Once my counselor and I met, he had suggested and then I was diagnosed with cyclothymia or bipolar II.

Cyclothymia is the less drastic little sister of Bipolar. My highs weren't as high and my lows weren't as low, but my mood and sleep were unmanageable. So I started medication and counseling. I thank every day for medication, three months later and I am ready to start a new chapter in my life.

Despite my financial struggles, despite what I think I should be when I grow up, despite feeling like I have failed in every part of my life; I finally feel like I can start over. I feel as though I can be myself and others will accept me. I feel like despite my interests with proper parameters and expectations, I can be successful in some, if not all of what I want to do.

I have damaged my husbands' confidence, my children's innocence and my ability to bond or find friends in others. Like they say "today is the first day of the rest of my life". I believe that. I hope in my journey, I can share the lessons I have learned. I hope that you find some of your strength in me and your faith. My faith is growing, my heart is full and so my beauty grows.

B.A.U.A.C.P.W.L.C (no really you need to read)

Many days I wonder where my children came from. Often people will suggest that they are a mix between Mike and I. Maybe so, but I also know that they come with special, quirky personalities all of their own.
Case in point:
My 10 year old daughter is a weirdo. She is beautiful, smart, does a mean robot, and totally in her own world. She wants to be a baker. Yes, I know, nothing sounds quirky or weird about it except she has been developing her own business plan, ON HER OWN. Today she brought me an application that she made for her potential employees.
Let's get started.
The name of her company is B.A.U.A.C.P.W.L.C. which of course stands for "Bakery Association of Underestimated Amazingly Cool People Who Love Chocolate"....obviously.

If any of you reading this, want to apply they will have to complete the following application. Lets get started.

1. Do you want to join the B.A.U.A.C.P.W.L.C?
2. Are you fit to be a baker?
   a) YES
   b) NO :(
   c) Maybe So
   d) I really don't know
3. Are you an underestimated cool person? Why?
4. Do you LOVE chocolate?
   a) YES!!! How dare you even ask!
   b) yah it's ok I guess
   c) No! Never!
5. Can you complete this application?
6. Are you good with computers?
7. Are you great on the phone?
8. Do you have any recipes you want to share?
9. Do you like making friends?
   a) Yes I love everyone
   b) Eh...ok
   c) I HATE THE WORLD! NO!
10. Are you good at cleaning up your space when you are done? Rate yourself 1-10
11. Are you good with the business, economy, money, etc?
12. What mood are you in today? Draw  :) if happy,  :(  if sad,  :<< if frustrated, and ? if none of the options fit you.
13. You are almost done. I want you to draw a picture of anything you want. Just make it good. (the best)

So really, I may have had a little influence on my daughter's personality but the above exercise was all her.
I think she is ready for her new business.

Dinner Time Judgement

Our 14 year old son taught us a lesson the other day that frankly embarrassed my husband and I. As we ate our amazing rosemary pork roast and bruschetta, my son thought he would open the dinner conversation with "I've decided our family is too judgemental."
After 5 seconds of silence I responded, "You are probably right, Dad and I really need to work harder on that."
Just when I thought I had escaped the warranted disappointment, my husband chimed in, "OK, we will try very hard to be less judgemental, except with horrible drivers, we draw the line there." My son tried to defend bad drivers with the standard, 'you don't know that they aren't trying', but my husband and I wouldn't give in.
What 14 year old does that? What teenagers notice that there needs to be a clear conscience and kind heart.
I am sure there are other teenagers out there, but I am proud of mine. My poor children had a mother that was way too rebellious, and thus they have to continue to teach me life lessons.

Unfortunate but addictive tv.

Unfortunately I have discovered some disturbing TV that I cannot stop watching. After years and years of withstraint, I have caved into watching "Dexter". I am starting from the beginning. Season 1 episode 1. The other disturbing show I started watching in 2013 is Fox's "Following". This brings me to my husband's concern and ultimate question. "Why do girls want to be scared?"  I don't know, it's fun I guess. Maybe it is the idea that there are probably people out in the world that are that disturbed, is in fact, disturbing and fascinating. How do they get there? What do they know? Who knows.

I have endured many road trips in my life, every time we entered a new city and you see how similar or different the homes are. Are the people in them like me? I imagine who they are, what ethnicity they are and what habits they possess. Is this fascination with people and their culture similar to the fascination with scary and disturbing TV?

I guess I will never know. You know?

Jewelry Design

So, I am a creature of comfort. I am a hippy at heart and don't always display my fashion sense to my surrounding network. however, I do have great taste. A few months ago I saw a job listing for a "Jewelry Buyer" for Sundance Catalog. I don't have buying or purchasing experience, however I have started my own businesses. That is beside the point. Because I love fashion and jewelry so much I put together a Pinterest board for my imaginary "Jewelry Buyer" job.

Enjoy.

Been away for a little while.

To my very few readers, I have been away for awhile. The last two years has been challenging and educational for me. Now that I am ending 2013 I have a few memories and lessons I would like to share.

I have been running a beauty school and with around 70 students and over 17 staff it has definitely been a learning experience.
Not only has my professional life been askew, my personal life has also had some life lessons and joys to learn from. As I get myself reacquainted with you all, I will leave you with this little video.

Love Notes.......

I remember a period in my life from the age of 5 to around 21 that I was always deeply in love. Yes, I was that girl. So, when my 12 year old son started to have a crush of his own, I felt his pain.
He has always had a small crush on one girl in his class each year. Only he and his mother knew of his crush each year.
Until now.
This year it is a little different, he has upped the ante. Not only has he developed a crush, he has written love notes, the first one anonymous and the most recent one he actually signed his name. It is fun to watch the poetic side of my 12 year old come out as he is trying to impress his new crush. Just to let you know, this 12 yr old boy is the sweetest thing, so to him, this day, must be love.

WARNING: Before reading the following love notes, be aware that my 12 year old son is DEEPLY into GREEK MYTHOLOGY.

Love Note #1

Dear Melanie,
You are as sweet as Greek honeycakes. If I were a god and I was immortal I would make you immortal so we could be together. If you were Medusa I would still date you. You are as beautiful as Aphrodite.
Love,
GM (greek myth)

Before I start love note #2 I have to say that I did not let him deliver this note, we talked about being friends and about giving each other space.

Love Note #2

Dear Melanie,
If I were a slave and you my master, I would do whatever you say, even if it means death. If I were Alexander and you the Persian princess, named Roxanne, I would marry you on the spot. If I were Perseus and you Medusa, I would rather die a bloody death by the Kraken than chop off your head. I would do whatever it takes to tickle your heart until death falls upon  us.
Love,
(his name)

These may seem a little serious, but with his love of Greek myths and tragedies, what other frame of reference does he have for love? (I guess other than my husband and I, but we are not nearly this dramatic)

It is so funny to look back and think of those major crushes. The very excitement you feel as you are going through young adulthood, just how serious and eternal they seem. How watching your crush laugh and giggle without knowing what is in your heart.

Getting the Romance Back!

hers

Here we go. A new year has started and my husband and I will be entering into our 14th year of marriage this year.
Things to know about my husband:

  • He is starting to grow more hair every year.
  • He will help you out at any time.
  • He is an incredible baker.
  • He is extremely dry and sarcastic.
  • He continues to be in love with my body even though it is oddly stretched and rounded in places that you wouldn't ever wish for.
  • His children adore him.
  • He is horrible at being romantic.
  • He makes fun of every trending, cheesy or sentimental thing I do.

After hearing a bit about him, you will understand why this next event in my life was so hard to do.

For a project at work, I had to find and test a product online. Because I am starting a relationship blog, I thought I would search for products that claim to help or grow your relationship.

So, here I am, I have found a product that teaches to send romantic texts and get your partner to reciprocate. NO THIS IS NOT SEXTING. So, with my extremely awkward, sarcastic, romantically challenged husband, this was definitely a task.

Could I ever get him to get past the first few texts without laughing and really try the program.? Well we got started and I will say this seriously... love it. Once my husband saw what his sweet texts and thoughts were doing to my attitude. Suffice it to say, I have loved this program. You guys can check it out, there is a free set of sample texts, then there is a program to try. My husband and I did the latter.
Even though we are not a couple that would ever think of this sort of program, we have no marital challenges, rarely fight, but 14 years can start to get a little dull.

I am totally grateful for the jumpstart. If you want to try, even if it seems a little silly at first, you can check it out here.

Cutest dog ever!

Ok, so I am behind the times, I have never joined Pinterest until today. My girlfriends at school keep talking about this site and with a little downtime in my work schedule, I decided to visit.

What I have found is disturbing. I am a major advocate for NOT dressing up your animals, however, once I saw this, I changed my mind. Attention to pet owners everywhere, unless you can produce such a specimen of animal cuteness, leave the pet clothes at the store. The following picture may in fact be the only exception.

Ice Cream and weightloss?

So, yesterday I was contacted from an associate of a professional partner of mine. They would like help promoting their product through women and mom blogs. The product is a mix that you mix with crushed ice and freeze. It is ice cream for weight loss. Seriously. Who wants to stop feeling guilty for eating ice cream.
I never thought this day would come? Ice cream, 150 calories, high in fiber and protein. I am going to be receiving the samples in the next week. I will let you know how my taste test goes.

I have a feeling in the future, they will want blogger's to review and use as an affiliate marketer. If you think you might want to be an affiliate or review this product, I will forward your information along. You can contact me at momsnmemos@gmail.com.

Lesson # 2: It is the little things that Matter.

As a church goer, I have my own struggles with what kind of mother and woman I should be. Where do I fit in? I think that most of us go through similar issues, and I don't know that  I have an answer yet.
However, I was thinking of the lessons that the holidays have taught me. So lesson number 2 is as follows.

Despite the fact that I am not crafty, I do not have play dates, I work full time and go to school at night. I enjoy hanging with my husband more than girls night out. This can, at times, lead to a lonely existence as a mother.

As I started into the holiday season, I started to wonder how I can  be aware and help those around me. As I am not the mother that will make pre-made cookie jars, or wrap a ribbon around a candle with a holiday poem, but I am someone who cares about others. I do want to help and assist anywhere I can.

Lesson #2 Make consistent and deliberate attempts.

I learned that the effort of saying hello, smiling to someone new, letting others know I am there for them, stopping by to say hi, this is enough. As long as my intent is pure, my acts are deliberate and I consistently try, I can influence the lives of those around me for the better, even without a red ribbon and poem attached to the candle.

As I write this down, I want you all to know, how much I love and care for you. How much I appreciate your words. Merry Christmas!

It was worth it!

In my last post I lamented about the Holiday season starting and everything I am dreading about it. Yes, sounds a little grinchy but I was not ready AT ALL. So, I am learning my lesson and have decided that with all of our flaws, spending time and making the effort to enjoy the holidays is worth it.

I just left my brothers house where we spent the Thanksgiving Holiday. There were 40 or so family members in a very large house, pictures, food, 4-wheeling, shopping, card games, wrestling, Just Dance and of course plenty of opinions and conversation. Although I wasn't in the frame of mind to enjoy the holidays, I am pleased to announce that I did just that.

So for this holiday season, I am going to post the lessons I have learned rather than the moments I abhor about the holidays. (I may include some of those things too, but we will try to stay on the positives)

So lesson #1 is GET OVER YOURSELF! If it is a friend or acquaintance, we all have quirks and less desirable personality traits. Who cares. Find the the traits in others that you can relate to or enjoy. The holiday season is about spending time with those you love and if you are finding you don't love anyone, you have a majorly sad problem.

This lesson may be for me to learn and everyone else may have it down, but I really doubt it.

Are we ready for the season?

I am a genius. I know that this sounds a little conceded, but my actions have proven this to be true, or not so true in actuality. I have started a new job and Aesthetics school at night both in the same week and just one week before Thanksgiving. Once Thanksgiving comes around, then we start the parties and family gatherings, the shopping and celebrating of the season. So, why not tack on a couple more things to complete my insane life. In addition to trying to keep the house clean, plan meals, schedule the holidays, work and go to school, I am looking into starting a beehive. This in actuality cannot happen until April or May, however I have to save the money and learn all I can so I am ready in time.
Are you ready for the Holiday Season? Meeting with your family to "enjoy" the Holidays together, only to spend 60% of your time strategically placing yourself in a different room from that family member you would prefer not to be related to. Going over the Christmas list to see what you can get a deal on, what you can find on Ebay and what will not be included in the presents due to financial matters.
I am scared to death for the season, the bills, the recovery, the job and the hope to remember the "spirit" of Christmas.
Also I thought I would post our family picture that we are sending out this year. I stay away from pictures and there are very few over the last 5 years due to my increasing weight. However, I thought it was time, I got a great deal on a photographer and she gave me the cd to use, so I can watch the cost; since in my last family picture, my eight yr old was 3 months old, I thought I should bite the bullet.
Happy Holidays.

It has been a while........

It has been a while since my last post. This is the same starting line that covers 75% of blogs. This blog is no different. Sometimes we forget that as we are living our lives, we need to post our lives.  I will take the challenge. ( Yes a little dramatic, but this post was seeming to go there. )
August and September were big months for our family. After 13 years of marriage, starting businesses, moving back home, and having children together, Mike and I decided to start again. NO, we are not talking about divorce here, we are talking about making a new life for ourselves. So, we left everything, our beautiful home, our friends, family, co-workers, some people we will miss and some we will not miss. My husband is a contractor and after 7 years, there was no business left. We had to decide what to do next. Mike was determined to never have another job so reliant on the economy again.
So, here we are in Provo, UT. Mike has decided to become a dentist. His degree is in Industrial Design, so this is an art degree. He has no sciences. Yes, you heard me right. No sciences, you kind of need science to become a dentist. So, he has to go to university to get his science classes (two years) and then can attend dental school. yippee..... a six year transition. Ok I will try that again, YIPPEE, Mike is going to dental school!!!! Better?
We are renting a little house, the kids love their new school, we live in a great neighborhood and we are so totally poor. I am looking for a job, and will be attending esthetician school at night. (I really am a whore for skincare, I will buy anything :) So, everyone that sells Arbonne or Avon or Mary Kay, stay away, and don't get me started on Sephora, seriously, don't.)
I am terrified to see if we will be able to fund our new life, but it is simpler and sweeter, so this should be good for us.
Now you can see that while I was living my life or trying to wade through my life, I have forgotten to post. I do have a couple of stories to share, thus I can see a few more posts in my future. Well in my near future of course.
To a new life!

Soul Mates

A little over 13 years ago just 2 months before my husband and I were married, we adopted our first child. She was the runt of the litter, a beautiful chocolate color, and had a tail that never stopped wagging.
Our chocolate lab Roxy has been with us for every move, every new home, every child's birth. She was very annoyed by each new dog we added to our home, but ultimately invited and mothered each of them as well.

After 13 years, she died yesterday. She no longer could use her back legs and had gone as long as she could. In the early morning, just before Mike took her to the vet, the children loved her, took pictures and said goodbye. Although my brain knew her time had come, my heart was broken. My very husband, who in the past was unable to show emotion, cried the entire time he dug her grave in the back yard.
As I watched her carried from the truck to the grave, it was clear that her spirit had left her body. Watching her laid gently in the ground, wrapped in her rose printed sheet, still wearing her pink rhinestone collar, was almost unbearable.

The children and I found comfort in knowing that she would be in heaven, wagging her tail, smiling at those that need comfort and begging for hot dogs from those that she knew would give in to her powers. She was our first addition to our family and will always be with us. It is amazing to me how these sweet creatures touch our hearts. We love you Roxy.

Lessons from Roxy:

Show joy and happiness each day.
Love those around you.
Happiness can be found in a great meal, family, and a good scratch.
Never trust those that don't like dogs.

I did it for a girl.

I have an eleven year old boy. He struggles with his weight. He is 5'6", 170 lbs, size 11 men's shoe and just finished the 5th grade. I have tried not to make him feel self conscious, but we do try to limit mindless snacking and my husband and I have been waking early with him to do workouts, bike rides, "Just Dance 2", whatever we feel like doing to get some exercise. Shamefully I must say that sometimes he wakes himself and works out on his own when I am too tired to move. So, before we started this regimen every morning, we were doing it occasionally (we now are more diligent). But, one morning I woke to what sounded like elephants in the living room. My 11 yr old was dancing away to "Rasputin". Note: I had not heard this song until the Just Dance video game provided it as one of the selections. The song is disco and sings words to the effect of "Ra-Ra-Rasputin, lover of the Russian queen, there was a cat that really was gone. Ra-Ra-Rasputin Russia's greatest love machine, it was a shame how he carried on..." I know, so wrong, yet so right.
Back to the story, so there he is dancing his little heart out. I smile at him and start breakfast. Later that day after school, my son tells me that he has decided to work out for "personal reasons". But he also gives me look like he would like to tell me more. So, I ask him what "personal reasons" means and he states to me that he can tell me when his father, little sister and little brother are out of the room. I then ask them to leave.
Once we were alone my son says that he "did it for a girl". He wanted to work out for a girl. I ask him if she knows he likes her. He tells me that he told her after school that he "likes, likes her". I asked what she said back and he said that she said "thanks",  he said "but in a nice way, not like a snotty thanks".
So, he has decided to turn himself into a workout fool, dancing to tale of Rasputin, for the love of his life that he intends to play Magic cards with later.
To be 11again.

I was 26 and I had the best cancer.

Unfortunately in today's world, we all compete. We even compete in the sickest of ways. "You are on Prozac, that is nothing, they give me _______ (fill it in) which is inevitably worse than your Prozac." "Oh, you had a finger amputated, I lost an entire leg and I live with the pain everyday."

Since I am not innocent or immune to this weird phenomenon, I will start this blog out with "I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer" (this was told to me to be the best kind of cancer to have, extremely low mortality rate).

So for the many of you that endured more, I am sorry. I wish I could of been there beside you. I am however going to tell a little bit of my story.

I was 26, I had two boys at the time of my diagnosis ages 3 and 1. My thyroid tests had all come up normal but I was still exhausted and couldn't lose any weight.  I went into the doctor and he was busy so the office provided me with the services of his nurse practitioner. She listened to my symptoms, saw my "normal" blood tests and then did a physical exam. She felt the lymph nodes in my neck which were mildly swollen but not tender, and then she stopped. Took a small breath and told me that I had a lump. She continued to inform me that this may be many different things and that I should see a doctor when I returned back home. (Did I mention I was visiting my mother at the time)

Because of the lack of excitement, I didn't worry. However, I was surprised that I didn't know the lump was there, but once pointed out to me, seemed so obvious.
I returned home and made an appointment with a surgeon who did a biopsy. He looked at the biopsy in his clinic and then said we had to send it out for testing. Not even an hour later I was informed that the lump was indeed cancer, very slow growing and the best kind of cancer to have. From that statement I decided I would not worry, cry or get excited. This cancer was not a big deal and it was the "best kind of cancer" to have. I am not going to die. I need to get over it.
I go home call my mother, of course she cries, tell my best friend, again crying, tell my husband, he shows absolutely no emotion and all the while I am thinking to myself, "What the hell is wrong with these people, it is the best kind of cancer."
Surgery was scheduled and more testing was done. I then learned all I could about the different kinds of thyroid cancer. There are a couple that are very common and two others that are significantly more rare and tougher to treat. I am going to rate them from 1-4, 1 being the best kind, 4 being the worst. My first call about the biopsy had stated that the cancer was #1, the next call was, we made a mistake, it is #2. This is fine, these are totally common, I thought to myself.
They rolled me into the surgical room early in the morning. My husband had a final that day (oh did I tell you we were still in college?) and would run over to the hospital as soon as it was done. A few weeks had passed by from diagnosiss to the surgery and my hubby still had no emotion over the entire event. I told him to study for his final, this is the "best kind" of cancer, and I will be fine.
I wake up from surgery, my best friend at my bedside with pictures from her wedding a few months before. We thumbed through pictures, made small talk and she seemed to get teary occasionally, but mostly we pretended that all was well. I asked her about Mike, my husband. Did he get back from his final? She said he did, but has be strolling the lobby and the halls like a zombie. He still had no emotion and couldn't form coherent sentences.
Weeks after the surgery another biopsy came back of the thyroid gland and two lymph nodes. One node had cancer as did the thyroid, the thyroid despite testing normal was completely diseased, Hashimotos, and the tumor was no longer the second best kind of thyroid cancer but it was #3, the third worst. This kind of tumor does not react to radiation or chemo, so if the surgery got the entire tumor, I would not need either of those things, if the tumor had spread past the lymph nodes, we would just have to chase it and cut it out. Yay.....

6 weeks after my surgery I was pregnant with my third child, not quite ready, I had a little of a melt down.
During that melt down, I realized I couldn't stop crying. I started evaluating my recent events and realized that I never allowed myself to get scared, worried or cry about my ordeal. And because it was "the best kind" I never felt that I had the right to blow it out of proportion. But there was no stopping the worry, angst and fear forever, it finally came. It didn't matter if it was the best or the worst kind of cancer, it was cancer just the same and emotions and realizations had to come along with the diagnosis, if I liked it or not.
I am 7 years clear of cancer and I am sure that it was one of the simplest of cancer cases, but I still had to allow myself to feel it. As my idiotic radiologist said, it might be the big "C".
So, as I wrap up this memory, I want to tell all those that may read this, allow yourself to feel. Whether it is depression, or bankruptcy, or cancer or fear. As hard as you try to stay strong, there is a time you have to allow your self to feel as well.
As for all doctors out there, please don't use the term Big "C" or the "best kind", don't sugar coat, just address the issue so we ( the patient ) can properly address the issue as well.
Lastly, allow those men in your life to handle and cope how they can, Mike never shed a tear but did morph into a zombie of a sort. That was ok, that was how he needed to deal. He taught the three yr old to make sandwiches so he could have something when I wasn't feeling well. I can not forget to love those that love me, even if I am confused on how they show it. Life is definitely too short.

Got an offer, turned it down, crap! The hell that is Wyoming.

In my desire to relocate my family, I had a job offer in Douglas, WY. For those from Douglas, WY, sorry, you probably shouldn't read on.
Douglas, WY is 11 hours away from my home, one way. Because I couldn't tell my current employer that I had a final interview and job offer, I had to squeeze the 22 hours of driving into about 48 hours of actual time. Which for those of you that can't help your children with their math homework, that would leave 26 hours over two days, for sleep and non driving time. It sucked.
Not only did I have to squeeze the drive, sleep and a 2 hour interview into that 48 hours, I also had to do all of this on my way to and in Douglas, WY.
Lets explain, Wyoming is barren, ok dramatic, it has small hills and sage brush, so I guess that is something. It also regularly has up to 30-40 mile per hour winds, I know what you are thinking, heaven, right? Am I right? But, there are a few cute towns along the way.
Anyway the only reason we would consider Douglas, is that there is also a lot of great paying jobs for my husband as well, so frankly money talks.
Then I drove around town, new elementary school, new bridges, looking good, oh, wait, what? Houses leaning, paint peeling, piercings glaring totally interfering with my sight. Re-thinking... how much money is hell worth? Tough question.
Never the less, the realist in me tells me I would rather earn $7 an hour than live in hell. I would rather my children not have to raise themselves. I will get to the point, Douglas, WY sucked. Every exit on the highway had barriers that if it gets too windy or stormy they can shut it down quickly, ding, ding, ding, how many red flags do I need?
So, obviously I turned the job down, my employer does not know about my 2 day marathon and I am back to the beginning.
Se la vie.

Falling into the abyss. Dreading the next day.

I have been looking at relocating my family. But, applying for jobs 100's of miles away is seeming to be quite the task. So at work, although I get all my work done efficiently and effectively, I am sidetracked by wanting desperately to go somewhere else. I have spent 25 of my 34 years in my small town. I moved away when I graduated and as I got married have since returned. So, I am at that point that enough is enough. Need a change, time to move on, etc.
I enjoy those that I work with. I enjoy staying busy. However lately, I haven't stayed busy making each day longer and longer. To make it worse the slow times leave me space in my mind to dream of some far off land that I want to whisk my family away to.
I hate dreading going to work. I usually don't, but as I have mentioned, I am ready to move on. So as it gets harder to get out of bed in the morning, drive up to the dealership, I take a deep breath and walk into work with a smile on my face.
Today was no different, but with that smile also came a bout of laughter. Because not only am I starting to dread work, I walk in with a pretend smile, and then hear it. You know that awesome background music that I have blogged about in the past. There it is, "All, by myself, I don't wanna be all by myself, anymore."
This made me laugh. The only image that popped into my mind was a picture of "Bridget Jones Diary", with Renee Zellweger laying on her couch, boozing it up and singing, poorly I might add, at the top of her lungs.
I have to be grateful for the little things that get me through that door and still smiling at the end of the day. Even if it is a ridiculously sapping song that in lesser times would make me want to slit my wrists.
